Ba Dinh District is also officially known as the "French Quarter" because of the many French-style villas built, when Hanoi was the capital of French Indochina. Today, the neighborhood where Ho Chi Minh declared independence in 1945 is dominated by government offices and embassies. However, it is also home to historical and important landmarks such as the One Pillar Pagoda, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace and the Hanoi Flag Tower. Vinhomes Metropolis Lieu Giai is considered one of Vingroup's most luxurious projects in Hanoi and offers the unique experience of seeing all four major lakes: the Thu Le Lake, the Ngoc Khanh Lake, the Giang Vo Lake and the West Lake.
